N4 The Gardens - December

Hello me dears.
Just a little post this month.There are still a surprising amount of things in flower. However with the cold, rain, wind and almost perpetual darkness I have not felt much like wandering about.

So on that somewhat negative note, lets see what jollies Harringay had to offer this month.

Hebes are always good value this time of year.

A chrysanthemum that managed to escape the frost.

The first of the many Arum lilies (Zantedeschia) to flower in the area.

Just outside the 'Gardens' in Harringay Road, the first blossom I have seen so far.

This amazing Abutilon also in Harringay Road is a true joy.

N4 The Gardens - November

Here we are me dears at the end of November with a quick random look at the gardens in 'The Gardens'.

N4 - The Gardens


Hello me dears welcome to a new regular monthly post.
Since we moved we have been stuck by variety of gardens and plants in our new area. 
The area is called the gardens because every street is named something - Gardens.

not a good month to start but hey, its a start.

This tradescantia was the plant that sparked the idea.
It is just growing in a crack in the pavement by the road.

Roses are very much a feature in 'the gardens' this lovely peachy yellow just glowed in the evening sun.

Not all is sweetness and light though this a gigantic Japanese Knot weed. the very same thug as we have done battle with in ours.

Its October and a bumper crop of sorbus berries.

or what ever they are, the birds love them.

A horrid fatsia japonica trying to look exotic.

This mirabilis jalapa is a fave of mine.

along with the many fuchsias in the area.

The dahlias are still putting on a fab show.

You never know what's around the corner, grape vines, olive trees, figs or indeed melons.

I pass these sun flowers on my way to the bus stop to work. They always cheer me up.
