The 'Delargo Towers' Garden - September

Here I am again me dears. I have at last started to repair the damage inflicted on me blog by photo Bucket Firstly I need to fill in the missing months garden posts ( May to January ) then replace the missing four years worth of photos on the previous posts

Wish me luck and here we go with
September 2017

For us the whole point of a garden is 'somewhere nice to sit with a glass of wine'

 Well, we certainly archived that

and the garden was looking lush.

Still flowering, but past its first flush, Phlox paniculata; and Salvia uliginosa in the background

Penstemon mixed colours – cottage garden variety

 Salvia 'Amistad'

 Asarina (Maurandya) scandens

Up in the hot colours border

 Everything was doing very well

New for us, and from seed, Salvia coccinea

 Pyracantha

Salvia coccinea

Again from seed and only just starting to flower, Mina/Ipomoea lobata - 'Spanish Flag'

 Coreopsis grandiflora "Early Sunrise"

 Pelargonium, “Calliope” Dark Red

 Our dahlias 'The Bishops Children'

A lovely pink ivy leaf  Pelargonium from Mr Baker in Essex

 Coboea scandens

We had four apple trees - and nobody who likes apples !

The project  for next year was to have been a 'mainly white' border.

(we already had an area that had white - Mirabilis jalapa, foxgloves, Oriental poppy and Iochroma australe - in place)

but it was never to be.

Another never to be was the 'Giants' Border'
with not one but two Crambe cordifolia and a Dahlia imperialis
The Crambe should have looked like this one at Kew but i never saw it in flower.

It is not often that I show the front garden.

This is taken through the sitting room window.

Nicotiana a-go-go !

Well there we are then, me dears

Till next time
