The Gardens of Delargo Towers - September

Hello me dears

Here we are again with an update on the gardens here at Delargo Towers.
Mid September gave us some rather nice weather but here at the rear end of the month it's very Autumnal and a little bleak.

These photos were taken in the middle of the month. October's I feel will look very different.

Three cheers for the gladioli from Wilkinsons. Only two flowered out of the whole batch but very pretty they both were.

All change with the window boxes with the fuchsias at the front to extend the season with a bit of jolly.

Will the cosmos get a chance to do its stuff? Fingers crossed.

Taken from my dressing room.

2nd flush on the delphinium

I am amazed how little time we have had sitting in the garden this year but its been very pleasant when we could.

Anyone want some pears? We have tons.

The Asarina is still flowering its heart out.

...while the petunias have been sent into retirement

We were so pleased with the sweet peas this year and they still have plenty of flowers to come.

Its been fun growing the tomato but I don't think we will bother again.

So we have come to the end of a rather disappointing Summer and are rolling into Autumn. October will the time to look back on the season and start to plan for next year.

  1. Despite the disappointing summer I think the garden still looks lovely, and providing the snails/frost/mould don't kill everything off, a few more weeks/months of flowers beckon... Jx
