Poster Art on the Tube

Hello me dears.

A Londoner cant but help but to have a love hate relationship with the Tube. One of the things I have always loved is its use of artist in the creation of its posters. There are of course many fab Art Deco examples. 

last year I was very pleased to be faced with T.F.L.'s offering, celebrating 150 years of tube travel.

Random - Spring in London

Hello me dears.

Its a particularly wet and miserable Easter Sunday here at Delargo Towers. To cheer us up lets remind our selves of how horrid winter was and how fab Spring actually is no matter what the weather. 

We start way back in February with the snowdrops at our doctors surgery.

And to end with cherry blossom in the garden of the lodge to the manor house of Chitts Hill. Sadly it is all that remains the house and farm buildings were demolished in the 1890s

Random statues of London # 1 of a series

During a wander around the City of London the other day with Alistair we stumbled across a statue I had never seen before. Now, the Parliamentary reformer John Wilkes has always been a hero of mine - and there in Fetter Lane is his statue.

This put me in mind of this project. I had started it a while ago, but as we lost so many pics when our last pcs' hard drive broke it was put on a bit of a back-burner. Without pics of my own to post I will kick off with some random ones from the interweb. As always, I assume them to be in the public domain but will of course remove them if asked.
